Discover More Than Books During National Library Week

Stop by your local library branch to help us celebrate National Library Week from April 7-13!

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. This year’s theme is “Libraries = Strong Communities” and will include celebrations such as National Library Workers Day, National Bookmobile Day, and Take Action for Libraries Day. Connect with us all week long by visiting your local branch to join in on the fun. You can also show support for your favorite librarian by nominating them to the ALA’s “Galaxy of Stars.” To nominate a stellar library worker, visit www.ala-apa.org/nlwd.

Discover More Than Books at Your Library

National Library Week is also a great time to explore all the amazing resources the Livingston Parish Library has to offer.

In today’s modern world of fast-paced information, constantly changing technologies, and an ever-growing population, libraries across the world have evolved to meet the needs of the communities they serve. The LPL is no different, increasing its offerings, collections, and services to better serve the residents of Livingston Parish.

Today, the modern public library is more than a building where you can find your favorite book titles. In fact, the resources available at the LPL extend far beyond the latest bestseller. Don’t believe us? Take a look at just a few of the things you can do with your library card.
