Ordering books via Interlibrary Loan is easy.

Call any of our 5 branches and the staff will be happy to assist you. Please remember, you must be a patron of the Livingston Parish Library to use this service.

Additionally, you can place an ILL request online, but you must already have a library card to do so.  Here's how:

 

You must be and remain a patron in good standing with the Livingston Parish Library to use this service.  This service is a privilege allowed by other library systems to help us help you.

 

PLACING INTERLIBRARY LOAN REQUESTS ONLINE

 

In order to use the LoanShark interlibrary loan services you must submit your first ILL request while in the library or on the phone. Our staff will assist you in placing your request online, and will also submit your user information for account creation purposes. Once processed, it will take 5-7 days for your account to be activated. 
 
Once the account has been created, you will be given your library-issued login and a password. Your login is typically a combination of your first name and last name, with no spaces or capital letters. The password consists of the first 3 letters of your last name in lower case, and 4 last digits of your library ID card.
 
Go to http://slla-agent.auto-graphics.com or click on the LoanShark link on the Livingston Parish Library home page.
  • At the logon screen, change Library to C1LV. 
  • For user name or barcode, type in your login name (example: johnsmith), and for password, type in your password (example: smi1234), then click go. 
  • At the search screen, fill in your search terms and click search. 
  • Click on the record for the item you want to borrow and verify that the item is in the format you want. 
  • Click on Request this item. A pop-up window will appear displaying item and patron information.  
  • Please make sure you select the correct pickup location from the drop-down menu.
  • Click submit at the top right hand corner of the screen. Please do not change any of your patron information in LoanShark, as the system does not retain information changes. If your address, phone number, or email address change, please inform the staff and they will inform Interlibrary Loan to make the changes.
To view the status of your requests, click on Patron Menu. Click on ILL Request Tracking.  Your name and password will appear. Click on the submit button at the top right hand corner of the screen.
 
If you provide your email address in your registration information, you will be kept informed of the status of your request by a direct email message.
 
If you don’t have a LoanShark login or password, please submit your item request to the library staff. We will contact you later, once the request has been processed and the account has been created, and provide you with your login credentials. 
 
Note: ILL items typically take 2-3 weeks to come in.  You will receive notification from your branch via email once your item has arrived.
